Miscellaneous Cards

While I have managed to eke out some time to craft since my son's birth, I have't had much time to blog those crafts.  It seems to be one or the other these days!  So, here are a couple of cards I have made in the past couple of months.

This little cowgirl card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of ivory card stock.  The striped mat was cut with a metal die from Jaded Blossom and the label shape was from an SVG Cuts cutting file.

The cowgirl is from Lettering Delights and her face is stamped from a Peachy Keen stamp.  I added some Stickles to her bows and the horse's reins and glossy accents to her eyes.

The sentiment is stamped and is from Jaded Blossom.

The gnome card is also 5 1/2"x4 1/4" but is made from white card stock.  Both the striped mat and the mushroom mat were cut with a Jaded Blossom die.  I then trimmed the mushroom piece and added a small red strip of card stock.

The gnome was stamped, using a Paper Smooches stamp, on white card stock and cut out with the Brother Scan 'n' Cut.  I then colored him in with colored pencils.  He is mounted in a frame that was cut with dies from Jaded Blossom.

The sentiment and mushroom are also both from Paper Smooches.  The mushroom was cut with the Brother Scan 'n' Cut as well, and also colored with colored pencils.  The card was finished with some blue and white sequins.

White Wedding

As I was looking through the images on the "Wrap It Up" Cricut cartridge yesterday, when I made the treat bag, I saw this bride image and wanted to make a wedding card using it.

The card is a z-fold card and is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I made the card base of white card stock and cut the heart patterned card stock 1/4" smaller for both the top and inner mats.

I used a die from Jaded Blossom to cut the rectangles for the sentiments.  The outer sentiment is from My Craft Spot.  The inner sentiment is from a wooden stamp I have had in my stash for years.

I added some Stickles to the veil and sequins to the bouquet.  I also used some stick-on pearls for the the necklace.  I finished it off with an enamel heart in the corner.

Tropical Penguin

I am participating in a card swap this month and the theme is tropical cards.  This is what I made to send to my partner.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  The yellow mat is 5 3/8"x4 1/8" and the wave patterned mat is cut with a Jaded Blossom die.

Both the island and the surfer penguin are from SVG Cutting Files.  I added some glossy accents to the sunglasses and some Stickles to the waves.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.

I cut another yellow mat and used the same Jaded Blossom die for the wave patterned paper.  I used another Jaded Blossom die for the white mat and two of their stamps for the sentiment.

Happy...

So, my husband deploys soon and that means he misses all our big days: Anniversary, his birthday, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, my birthday, and the birth of our son.  This has happened before, minus the birth of our son part, and I just give him one big gift before he goes.  So, I made this card to cover all the bases.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I used a die from Jaded Blossom to cut the white mat.  I then used stamps from Jaded Blossom to cover the mat with the days he will be missing.  I used another stamp from them for the word "happy" and fussy cut it out.  The banner and sentiment on it are from the Cricut.  I used the write function to write the word on the banner before it was cut out.

Both the sentiment and the banner were adhered with foam tape for dimension.

Space Cadet

Here is another one of the cards I made to send my husband while he is deployed.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I used a die from Jaded Blossom to cut a white mat.  I then embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

All the images are from Paper Smooches.  I colored them in and adhered them to the card.  The blue/green planet and the top part of the rocket are adhered with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

Can't Bear It

My husband will be deploying soon and will be gone for six months.  I thought I would start making some cards to send to him while he is gone.  This is one of them.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I used some dies from Jaded Blossom for the the yellow mat and teal circle.

The bear is a stamp from My Favorite Things and I paper pieced it.

The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things and is stamped on a banner that was cut with a die from My Craft Spot.

I used the color combo from Just Us Girls to inspire this card.

Wedding Card

My cousin is getting married next weekend, so this is the card I made for him and his bride-to-be.

I used their wedding invitation as inspiration for this card.  It is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I cut a white mat 1/8" smaller and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder.

I used glitter card stock and foiled card stock for my cuts to give it some shimmer and shine.  I also added three gold gems for more added bling.

I used a stamp from My Craft Spot for the sentiment and swirls on the inside.

Stay Golden

A fun, summery card for you today.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  The mat was cut with a die from Jaded Blossom.

I also used stamps from Jaded Blossom for all the pineapples and the sentiment.  I heat embossed the outline of the large pineapple, then colored it in using glitter.  I covered it all with glossy accents and mounted it with foam tape for dimension.

Dragon Valentine

Today's card is a non-traditional Valentine's Day card.  I made it to give to my husband.

I got these adorable dragon stamps and knew that I had to do something with them.  I just love dragons!  I think this will be a cute card for him, without being all pink and girly, like so many Valentines.

The blue and green background was created with Distress Inks to make it look like grass and sky.  All the images are stamped and colored, then cut out with my Brother Scan 'n' Cut.

The dragon was adhered to the card with foam tape for some dimension.

The knight's sword is covered in glossy accents and the red part of his shield is covered in red Stickles.  The princess has Wink of Stella and glossy accents on her crown.  I added some heart-shaped gems.

The inside has stamped sentiments and a heart.

Sugar & Spice

I just had to play with this adorable little stamp!

The image and sentiment are stamped.  I colored the little girl with Chameleon markers.  I also added some Wink of Stella and Stickles for some added sparkle and shimmer.  I then covered all the candy and her eyes with glossy accents.

I used metal dies to cut out the mats.

I used metal dies for the mats on the inside as well.  I left it blank for whatever message I might want to use it for.

Honey Bee Bear

My anniversary is on Sunday, so I made this card to give to my husband.

I added glitter and gloss to this card because that is just what I do.

I made the bee with simple circles and then some yellow strips of card stock, cut to fit the circle body.

Winter Alpaca

To create this fun background, I stamped all the snowflakes with embossing ink, then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  After they were heat embossed I then used pumice stone and tumbled glass Distress Ink to cover the mat and give the effect of a snowy, wintry sky.

I just love this fun sentiment!
