To the Moon

Since I didn't work today I decided to do some crafting.  I made some wall art for my soon-to-be son's nursery.

Both the picture frame and little guy in the rocket were made using svgs from SVG Cutting Files.

I used a Peachy Keen face for the little guy.  I also added Stickles to the yellow flame and glossy accents to the orange flame of the rocket.  I hung the rocket from the bottom of the frame using some thread, so it looks like he is flying below the frame.

Stay Golden

A fun, summery card for you today.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  The mat was cut with a die from Jaded Blossom.

I also used stamps from Jaded Blossom for all the pineapples and the sentiment.  I heat embossed the outline of the large pineapple, then colored it in using glitter.  I covered it all with glossy accents and mounted it with foam tape for dimension.

Birthday Duck

Today I had a little time to do some crafting, so I made this cute little duck birthday card.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I used a die from Jaded Blossom to cut the plaid mat, which is 5 1/4"x4."

The scallop oval and plain oval are also both cut using dies from Jaded Blossom.  It is adhered to the card with foam tape.

The adorable little duck, the balloon, and the sentiment are all stamps from Peachy Keen.  I paper pieced the duck.  The balloon is covered in glossy accents to make it look nice and shiny.

Fairy Birthday

I made three quick feminine fairy birthday cards today.

All three are 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of black card stock for the card base.  The white mat is 5 1/4"x4" and the small colored mat is 3 3/4"x2 1/2."

I used three different Distress Inks, in the particular color I wanted, to create each colored mat.

The fairies are all from SVG Cuts.  I wanted all three to be glittered, and I achieved that in three different ways.  The first one (pink) was glittered by using Stickles.  The second one (green) was glittered with glitter.  The third one (purple) was glittered by using glitter card stock.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.

Bee Thankful

I am six months pregnant now, so we are starting to get gifts from people.  I also have a baby shower coming up.  So, we will be needing thank you cards to send out for the things people get us.  I started by making fourteen of these and can make more later on if necessary.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I cut the black mat 1/8" smaller than the card base.  I then used a die from Jaded Blossom to cut the white mat, which I then embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  The background shape is from the "Cricut Font and Basic Shapes" cartridge.  I used two different patterned papers on them because I didn't have enough of one to do all fourteen.

The bee is from SVG Cutting Files.  I added a face from Peachy Keen.  I added glossy accents to the eyes and Stickles to the wings.  For some dimension I used foam tape to adhere the bee's head to the body and then to adhere the bee to the card.

The sign is part of a cut file from SVG Cuts.  I added some twine so the bee would be holding it.  I used a stamp from Jaded Blossom for the sentiment.  I used foam tape to adhere the top of the sign for a little added dimension.

Star Wars Day

It is May 4th, which means it is Star Wars Day!  So, to celebrate, I made a couple of Star Wars themed crafts.

The first is a birthday card featuring Chewbacca.

The card base was made with the "Cricut Classic Font" cartridge.  Chewbacca is an SVG from Krafy Nook.  I inked up the edges of all his fur with a variety of brown Distress Inks.

The sentiment and the banner are both from Jaded Blossom.  I finished off the card with some sequins.

The second craft I made was a piece of wall art.  I made it for my soon-to-be son's nursery.  I am due in August and have decided to decorate the nursery in a space theme.  Well, more like using geeky space-themed movie/TV shows as decor.  We are talking Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly, Doctor Who, that sort of thing.

I found an SVG on Etsy that features a boy walking an AT-AT.  I painted a canvas with black paint.  I then cut the SVG out of vinyl and adhered it to the canvas.  I will be adding his name later, above the boy.  We have already decided on a name, but we are not telling anyone until he is born, so it will have to wait.

Sunshine

I am finally done with finals, so I have a little more time to spend on crafting.  To celebrate this fact, I made a fun card.

The card base was made with the "Wild Card 2" Cricut cartridge.  The coordinating envelope is also from the same cartridge.

The man in the beach chair is from the "Fun in the Sun" Cricut cartridge.

I used a stamp from Jaded Blossom for the sentiment.
