Alma's Name Sign

My step-sister gave birth to a little girl 6 weeks after I had my son.  She and her husband did her nursery in a woodland theme.  I made this name sign for her to go with that theme.

The background of this scene was made with five different colors of Distress Ink.

The deer and trees are images that I converted to cut files using the Design Space software.  The buck and doe are both covered with some Wink of Stella for a subtle shimmer.  The fawn is covered in glitter and glossy accents.  It is also adhered with foam tape.

Her name is cut with the "Animal Antics" Cricut cartridge.  I covered the pink layer with glitter and glossy accents to match the fawn.

Bee Family Frame

My husband's birthday is coming up at the end of the month.  I already got him one large gift to cover all the events he will be missing, but I wanted to be able to send him something while he is away.  So, I made a picture frame and put a picture of the three of us in it for him to enjoy.

I used the "insert shape" feature in Cricut Design Space to create all the hexagons.  I sized them at 2" and cut them out of three different patterns of card stock.  I then covered the frame with them.  Once the frame was covered I put a layer of matte Mod Podge on the frame to seal it.

The beehive is from SVG Cutting Files and all the bees are from Lettering Delights.

The words are from the Cricut.  Bee is from "Live Simply" and family is from "Dr. Checkup."

Baby Thank You

Last week I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.  He is now 6 days old and I managed to get some time in the craft room to make a quick card to send to the amazing hospital staff.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I cut mats from different patterned card stock.

The stork and baby image is from the "9 Months" Cricut cartridge.  I used Peachy Keen face stamps for the eyes of both the baby and the stork.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.

Some Bunny Special

This time I decided to use the tag feature on the "Wrap It Up" Cricut cartridge to create this cute gift tag.  It would work for a birthday, Mother's Day, or even Easter.  The back is blank to personalize it for whatever event I want to use it for.

I cut the white layer twice and on one of them I cut out just the fence.  I then embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and inked it a little with some Distress Ink.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.  I added a twine tie at the top and also a twine bow.

The bunny and grass are both metal dies from Jaded Blossom.  I finished it off with some gem flowers.

Worm Birthday Wishes

I used the card feature from the "Wrap It Up" cartridge today to make this fun apple shaped card.

I made my card and cut the green portion twice.  I then trimmed off just the leaf to give me a second one.  I glued the center down and used a double layer of foam tape at both edges to pop it up.  The apple and the leaf are both inked with Distress Inks.

I decided to have a cute little worm coming out of the bite in the apple.  He is an svg from Lettering Delights.  I inked his lightest layer up with a light layer of Distress Ink.

The tag is a metal die from Jaded Blossom.  I stamped on a sentiment from Paper Smooches.  I wrapped the stem with some twine and used the same twine to tie a bow to put on my tag.  The bottom of the tag is adhered with foam tape for a little dimension.

Music to My Ears

I decided to use "Wrap It Up" again on today's project.  This time I made a gift card holder.

The gift card holder and its mats were made with Jaded Blossom dies.  I also used stamps from them for the gift card grid and all the sentiments.

The headphones are the cut I used from "Wrap It Up" and the music notes are from "Groovy Times."  I used twine to create a cord for the headphones.  I also added some glossy accents to the red parts of the headphones.

Spooky Treats

I ordered a bunch of stamps from Jaded Blossom and they arrived the other day.  I decided to use one of the stamp sets to make a project, so I made this Halloween treat bag.

I thought this spider web patterned card stock was perfect for the bag.

The treat bag and the jack-o-lantern are both from the "Wrap It Up" Cricut cartridge.  I used foam tape to adhere the jack-o-lantern.  I also added crackle accents to the stem and glossy accents to the face.

The banner and tag are both cut with Jaded Blossom dies and stamped with Jaded Blossom stamps.  I added a twine bow and some sequins to finish it all off.  I used a double layer of foam tape in the middle of the banner for some dimension.

Shaped Birthday Card

I made this birthday card to send to my husband while he is deployed.

I used the Cricut to create my shaped card.

The word "happy" was cut six times and adhered together.  This gives is the same dimension you would see if I had used foam tape, but since the letters were too narrow I couldn't actually use foam tape.

I added glossy accents, glitter, and some gems to liven it up a bit.

Happy...

So, my husband deploys soon and that means he misses all our big days: Anniversary, his birthday, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, my birthday, and the birth of our son.  This has happened before, minus the birth of our son part, and I just give him one big gift before he goes.  So, I made this card to cover all the bases.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I used a die from Jaded Blossom to cut the white mat.  I then used stamps from Jaded Blossom to cover the mat with the days he will be missing.  I used another stamp from them for the word "happy" and fussy cut it out.  The banner and sentiment on it are from the Cricut.  I used the write function to write the word on the banner before it was cut out.

Both the sentiment and the banner were adhered with foam tape for dimension.

Sunshine

This is the final card I made to send to my husband while he is deployed.  Well, the last one for today at least.

This is a shaped card that I created using a cloud shape that I got from "Groovy Times."  I embossed with white layer with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The sentiment is from My Craft Spot.

The swirly cloud is from "When I Was a Kid."  The sun is from "Sesame Street Seasons."  I used a face stamp from Peachy Keen on the sun.

Bee Thankful

I am six months pregnant now, so we are starting to get gifts from people.  I also have a baby shower coming up.  So, we will be needing thank you cards to send out for the things people get us.  I started by making fourteen of these and can make more later on if necessary.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I cut the black mat 1/8" smaller than the card base.  I then used a die from Jaded Blossom to cut the white mat, which I then embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  The background shape is from the "Cricut Font and Basic Shapes" cartridge.  I used two different patterned papers on them because I didn't have enough of one to do all fourteen.

The bee is from SVG Cutting Files.  I added a face from Peachy Keen.  I added glossy accents to the eyes and Stickles to the wings.  For some dimension I used foam tape to adhere the bee's head to the body and then to adhere the bee to the card.

The sign is part of a cut file from SVG Cuts.  I added some twine so the bee would be holding it.  I used a stamp from Jaded Blossom for the sentiment.  I used foam tape to adhere the top of the sign for a little added dimension.

Star Wars Day

It is May 4th, which means it is Star Wars Day!  So, to celebrate, I made a couple of Star Wars themed crafts.

The first is a birthday card featuring Chewbacca.

The card base was made with the "Cricut Classic Font" cartridge.  Chewbacca is an SVG from Krafy Nook.  I inked up the edges of all his fur with a variety of brown Distress Inks.

The sentiment and the banner are both from Jaded Blossom.  I finished off the card with some sequins.

The second craft I made was a piece of wall art.  I made it for my soon-to-be son's nursery.  I am due in August and have decided to decorate the nursery in a space theme.  Well, more like using geeky space-themed movie/TV shows as decor.  We are talking Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly, Doctor Who, that sort of thing.

I found an SVG on Etsy that features a boy walking an AT-AT.  I painted a canvas with black paint.  I then cut the SVG out of vinyl and adhered it to the canvas.  I will be adding his name later, above the boy.  We have already decided on a name, but we are not telling anyone until he is born, so it will have to wait.
