Masculine Birthday Card

I made this masculine birthday card for my father-in-law's birthday.  My husband and I have an agreement when it comes to cards for his side of the family: I will make them, but he has to give me something to work with (theme, colors, image...).  For this one he said an old-fashioned wheel.

I found this Tim Holtz stamp in my stash and thought it would work perfectly.  I'm not sure if it is old wheels or gears, but I think it just works!  It is from the Time Travelers set.  I used my MISTI to stamp the image four times to cover my grey card stock.  I used a mask to make sure the image stayed clean and clear.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and it folds at the top.  The black mat is 3"x4 1/4" and the dark grey card stock is 2 3/4"x4 1/4."  I inked around the edges of the card base with some pumice stone Distress Ink to give it a more weathered look.  I also distressed and inked the edges of the grey card stock.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, their So Many Birthdays set.

Bread & Butter

I made a Valentine's Day treat tag today!  I am giving this to my husband with a little Reese's treat (his favorite)!  He just loves bread, has it with every meal, and has said he could just live off of bread alone if necessary, so I thought this would a cute image and sentiment for him!

The whole thing was made with Jaded Blossom products.  The tag is from Luggage Tag Dies.

The sentiment is made from three different stamp sets.  "Valentine" is from the Valentine Luggage Tag, I simply masked off all the parts of the sentiment I didn't want.  "We go together like" is from We Go Together Like 2.  "Bread and butter" is from We Go Together Like....

The bread and butter are both from You're My Butter Half.  I stamped them, then cut them out with my Scan 'n' Cut.  I colored them using colored pencils.  I added glossy accents to the melty part of the butter.  I then adhered them to the tag with foam tape.

The hearts are from Heart Splatters.  I stamped them in a burgundy ink and then covered them in Wink of Stella and glossy accents.  I finished off the tag with a brown twine bow at the top.

I also finished the back of the tag.  I used one of the Stitched Square Dies to cut the white square.  The sentiment is from Sprinkled with Love.  I then added a "to" and "from," both of which are from Fun Money.

This is my entry into the Valentine Challenge at Jaded Blossom.

Dragon Valentine

Today's card is a non-traditional Valentine's Day card.  I made it to give to my husband.

I got these adorable dragon stamps and knew that I had to do something with them.  I just love dragons!  I think this will be a cute card for him, without being all pink and girly, like so many Valentines.

The blue and green background was created with Distress Inks to make it look like grass and sky.  All the images are stamped and colored, then cut out with my Brother Scan 'n' Cut.

The dragon was adhered to the card with foam tape for some dimension.

The knight's sword is covered in glossy accents and the red part of his shield is covered in red Stickles.  The princess has Wink of Stella and glossy accents on her crown.  I added some heart-shaped gems.

The inside has stamped sentiments and a heart.

Puppy Dog Kisses

This is a super simple card, but I love the effect.

This is a 5 1/2"x4 1/4" card.

The background was created with six different colors of Distress Ink to create the ombre effect.

The dog silhouette was stamped and heat embossed.

The sentiment was stamped.

Tons of Fun

How about a cute elephant-shaped card for you today?

The card base was created by adhering two of the same images together at just the top.

I used some foam tape to adhere just the top parts of the balloons and flag, the bottoms were glued under the trunk.

I finished it off with fun elephant-themed sentiments stamped on the inside.
